Minister Angelkova: A team of experts will begin working on the changes of the law on e-Governance

A team of recognized experts in information technology law will began working on amendments to the Law on e-Governance. The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Nikolina Angelkova, announced this during a meeting with representatives of the industry and employee organizations in the sector of information and communication technologies. Representatives of the IT business will also be included to work on the project. The Minister said that a policy of continuity would be used in the field of e-government, so that the next Parliament is able to discuss a Law that is socially acceptable.
The aim is to make the law workable and effective, said Minister Angelkova. According to her, the new texts should regulate the functions of the state system administrator who will ensure the maintenance and sustainability of the developed business systems projects that have already been completed. Continuity should be ensured, so that when a citizen or legal person needs a complete service-related data that is stored in several administrations, can easily access the document online.
In order to accomplish the tasks that team at the Ministry has set, Nikolina Angelkova pointed out that there would be the need of the support and participation of industry expert when discussing regulatory changes.
Representatives of professional and employee organizations stressed their belief that a working e-Government is a major step towards improving the business environment in the country. They expressed their readiness to participate in professional discussions on draft laws and policies to reach a consensus on the future development of the sector. |
