Bulgarian IT projects to participate in ITU’s competition

Bulgarian organizations can participate in the International Telecommunications Union competition (WSIS Project Prizes 2015) for projects related to information society. The initiative has been organized for a fourth year in a row. The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and communications has disseminated information on the opportunities for applying in the competition among the stakeholders from the administration. на Международния съюз по далекосъобщения за проекти в информационното общество.
The competition presents projects in 18 categories – e-government, e-health care, administrative capacity building etc. The deadline for applications is 10 February 2015, and the winning projects will be announced at a ceremony in May in Geneva within the framework of ITU Summit. The selected projects will be promoted in all 193 member countries.
Bulgarian projects from state and private institutions, academia and civil society, that have been presented previously in the competition, will be assessed as examples of best practices and have been included in the annual catalogue of the organization. In 2012 ITU published a report on best practices with 40 Bulgarian projects in the field of information society. In 2013 14 Bulgarian proposals and initiatives were included in the report.
