Minister Ivaylo Moskovski: I’d like stable railways for Bulgaria
17.01.2015
The decision that we took yesterday together with the Minister of Finance Vladislav Goranov and the representatives of the Union organizations is to file a decree at the Council of Ministers next Wednesday on the addition of 40 million Levs of capital transfer to the subsidy for BDZ Passenger Services EOOD, said the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski at the railway station of Karlovo today. He added that this would allow the state railway carrier to repeal the suspension of train services.
Minister Moskovski commented that the schedule of the suspended 38 trains will be revised so as to ensure normal transportation for passengers and that all trains, which are technically reliable, will be put into operation again, as there are some, which are evaluated as unsafe.
I have ordered the management of BDZ to hold meetings with mayors to discuss the most convenient train lines for their citizens so as to prepare a schedule that will address the specific needs of people, informed Minister Moskovski.
The strategy for reform and development of BDZ will be filed in the National Assembly for review and approval by the MPs. This will ensure that it will be implemented irrespective of any changes in the management of the company or the government, announced Minister Moskovski.
The Transport Minister met with citizens of Karlovo and listened to their proposals and demands on the train schedule and the development of the railways. The Minister personally informed them on the fact that 8 train services, which pass through the station of Karlovo, will be restored.
I address the 32 employees of the Engine Depot in Karlovo – it will not be closed and I ensure you that you will keep your jobs, said the Minister.
I would like stable railways for Bulgaria and I will work towards achieving this, concluded the Minister on his depart from Karlovo. |
