Minister Ivaylo Moskovski: Transport policy should focus on infrastructure quality

The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski took part in the meeting of the EU Transport, Telecommunications and Energy Council (TTE), in the “Transport” session, which took place in Brussels today.
At the meeting the ministers debated on the market pillar of the Fourth railway package and Minister Moskovski supported the proposal of Luxemburg, Latvia, Ireland and Estonia to allow for the direct awarding and exclusion from tender procedures for small market.
During the discussions on the topic “Contribution to the competitiveness, growth and jobsin the EU via the development of transport policy”, Minister Moskovski underlined that for the provision of sustainable growth the transport policy shall focus on the improvement of physical infrastructure by boosting connectivity and access and by improving cooperation between private partners, member states, European coordinators and the European Commission.
During the discussion of the topic “Contribution of EU aviation ecosystem for jobs and growth”, and in view of the forthcoming new aviation package Minister Moskovski emphasized on the simplification of the legislative framework in the field of civil aviation as a sector with one of the strictest and numerous regulations. He gave as a good example of the reduction of harmful effects on environment the two cross-border sectors for air traffic management within the DANUBE FAB project, which were introduced in 2014, and being a joint initiative with Romania.
