Two associations of companies and organizations submitted proposals to establish a register of the Cyrillic domain ".бг"

"Names бг" AD and the Bulgarian Domain Registry Association submitted proposals for the establishment and administration of the register of Cyrillic domain “.бг”. Today the documents were opened by the evaluation commission at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications (MTITC).
Shareholders at "Names бг" AD are: Bulgarian Library and Information Association,"Register.BG" Ltd, the Association for electronic communications," Digital Systems" Ltd, "Digital Systems Limited" Ltd., as the application of "Global Libraries Bulgaria" to participate in the company will be discussed at the next shareholders’ meeting.
Bulgarian Domain Registry unites Unicart Ltd. "Internet Corporated Network" Ltd., SuperHosting.BG Ltd., Hosting Ltd, "Serdika software" Ltd., "Netfinity" JSC, the "Law and Internet" Foundation, and law company "Subev and partners".
Applicants have submitted information about their organizational readiness, expertise, technical resources, business model and financial security. The expert commission has 30 working days to consider the proposals. Bids will be evaluated by representatives of MTITC, the Ministry of Finance, the Executive Agency "Electronic Communication Networks and Information Systems", "Information Services" AD and Bulgarian Research and Education Network.
One of the candidates will be selected and presented to the Internet Assigned Numbers Authority (IANA), which is part of The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN).
The choice of a register of Internet names in a national language is the final phase of the five-year effort of the state to have Internet names in Cyrillic, said Mr Hristov, Chairman of the evaluation commission, at the opening of the bids. He recalled that once Bulgaria received a "green light" to register the symbols ". бг" in October 2014, a methodology and working principles the organization to establish and manage a register of future domains were adopted. On July 1, 2015 MTITC announced the possibility of submission of proposals.
