The inspectors of EA "Automobile Administration" have not found any serious violations
Before the start of the school year, all school buses and companies transporting children and pupils were checked. Inspected 1183 buses that are registered to provide school transport. One ticket was issued to a driver for lack of a qualification card for the respective category and 35 prescriptions were issued, as no serious violations were found. Prescriptions issued related to the marking of buses with the required signs for the carriage of children, endorsements of fire extinguishers, replacement of worn tyres, validity of technical inspections and certificates issued for additional inspection to check their equipment.
The inspections were launched at the end of August by order of the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova and are part of the measures to improve road safety. They are divided into two stages. From 28 August to 12 September 2024, inspectors of the EA Automobile Administration carried out preventive controls in companies that will transport children and schoolchildren. Prior to the start of the school year, a large number of buses did not carry out pupil transport and were therefore inspected at the enterprises, and if deficiencies were found, prescriptions were issued. The main purpose of this part of the inspection is to determine whether the carriers meet all the requirements, as well as to pay attention to the technical condition of the buses and their readiness to transport students in the new school year.
After the start of the school year, until the end of September, the inspections will continue, with repeated checks on the road for the implementation of the instructions given and compliance with all regulatory requirements for the transport of children and pupils.
