Bulgaria received the trust of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) to host a cybersecurity forum for the fifth time because of its active role in the organisation's activities. This was the common opinion expressed at a meeting today between the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Dimitar Nedyalkov and the Deputy Secretary General of the Union Tomas Lamanauskas. The representative of the organisation is in Sofia to participate in a regional forum of the European members of the ITU.
Top experts from around the world will gather from 26 to 29 November in Sofia to discuss the management of processes related to cybersecurity and critical infrastructure protection.
Bulgaria is one of the oldest members of the International Telecommunication Union and will continue to support all efforts for the transformation of the organisation, Deputy Minister Nedyalkov said. He reaffirmed the clear commitment of the Ministry of Transport and Communications to the activities and policies of the Union for the development of the technology sector. Bulgaria's voice is important both in the preparation of the organisation's documents and in the process of their implementation, Mr Lamanauskas said.
