Bulgaria is hosting for the fourth time the Regional Cybersecurity Forum for Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, organized by the International Telecommunications Union.
This is a recognition of our country's role both in the activities of the international institution and in regional cybersecurity, said Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Andreana Atanasova at the opening of the event.
"We must work together, develop flexible policies and impose technological innovations to strengthen international cooperation in collective security. Cybersecurity could not be maintained without constant discussions, exchange of experience and information at the international level, "she added.
More than 140 representatives of governments, legislatures, regulators, service providers, academia, civil society and cyber experts participate in the regional forum. The focus of the discussions are national cybersecurity strategies, the activities of crisis response centers, the security challenges of 5G networks, the impacts of artificial intelligence, data protection and more.
The previous three successful editions of the Forum in 2008, 2012 and 2016 were also held in Sofia.
