The Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications fully supports Bulgarian carriers, stated Deputy Minister Anguel Popov during the public discussion of European legislative proposals part of the Mobility Package. Krassimir Srebrov, Executive Director of EA Automobile Administration, participated in the event initiated by transport companies.
“The proposal we are discussing provides for a break at a six-week interval, not three, as it was suggested by the public. We have already replaced the phrase “at home” with “exploitation center”, so that international drivers would not need to go back to their places of residence, and it is a matter of organization to specify locations to have a rest”, commented Deputy Minster Popov.
Negotiations on the Directive’s texts are difficult and Bulgaria, holding the Presidency of the council of the EU, bears significant responsibility to reach a consolidated proposal on the Mobility Package. Fifteen meetings of the Transport Committee have been held until now, which is a precedent in such a short period, added the Deputy Minister.
