In times of technological and social "phenomena," with a growing confidence of being able to travel around the world within hours, the philately remains alive, dynamic and immense, because the pursuit of beauty and the passion for knowledge are set somewhere deep in mankind, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Genovski said at the opening of a philatelic exhibition dedicated to Bulgaria. The event is organized at the headquarters of the Universal Postal Union in Bern, Switzerland, and the exhibition will be open for visitors until the end of September 2018. "In 2019 we will celebrate the 140th anniversary of the first Bulgarian post stamps - the Sants," Deputy Minister Genovski underlined.
The Bulgarian Ambassador to Switzerland Meglena Plugchieva, the Executive Director of “Bulgarian Posts” EAD Deyan Dаneshki, representatives of the diplomatic corps, the Swiss and Bulgarian institutions and the public also attended the opening.
