The Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Dimitar Genovski, opened Bulcollecto 2018 International Collectors’ Fair organized by the Bulgarian Philatelists Union within the Autumn International Technical Fair in Plovdiv.
The side event is a philatelic exhibition presenting one of the most attractive exhibits of the Bulgarian competitor’s philately, which are positioned on 160 exhibition murals, explained Genovski. The Deputy Minister highlighted that among the exhibits there are the five-stotinki stamp of the Royal Post collection and the three-stotinki stamp of the Big Lion collection.
Bulcollecto 2018 Fair was opened with the launch of four post stamps on the topic of “Fauna – the extinct species”, printed in souvenir sheets and in series. The project also includes a post envelope and a seal. A limited edition is available for collectors. The post stamp depicts animal species that lived on planet Earth but became extinct in the last 300 years.
Later in the day some post-philatelic products were validated. They commemorate anniversaries of world-known artists, such as the Renaissance artist Tintoretto, the composer Charles Gounod, the writer Mayne Reid and the director Ingmar Bergman.
