Only in dialogue with the Municipalities we can achieve synergy between the different modes of public transport and a functioning National Transport Scheme. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Bozhidar Kostadinov in the framework of a meeting with the Mayor of Pernik Stanislav Vladimirov and the Regional Governor Kiril Stoev.
One of the busiest destinations for daily travel is Sofia-Pernik, as a large number of cars travel in this direction every day. Buying new trains and improvement of the organization of traffic schedules with other modes of transport in the city will contribute to a drastic decline in the use of private cars at the expense of public transport, Bozhidar Kostadinov explained.
Our commitment is the transport to work in an interconnected way, and the next step is the introduction of a single transport document, which is being developed as a pilot project in the direction from Sofia to Sunny Beach, the Deputy Minister said. He added that for this purpose it is necessary to introduce uniform standards for ticket systems.
Zlatin Krumov, National Railway Infrastructure Company General Director, explained that the public procedure for the Sofia-Pernik-Radomir railway line is expected to be announced by June, and that all railway stations from Sofia to Pernik are also planned to be renovated.
