The Integrated transport strategy for the period until 2030, which is part of the prereqisites of the European Commission, is in the final stage of preparation, announced Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev during a round table "Modern Planning Practices in Bulgaria - Problems and Challenges". The event is held today in Sofia and is organized by "D. A. Tsenov " Academy of Economics, Svishtov and the National Association for Forecasting and Planning.
The Deputy Minister pointed out that out of total of the 11 activities included in the scope of the strategy, 10 have been implemented so far. "The last remaining activity is related to the environmental assessment of the document and we are currently expecting an opinion from the Ministry of Environment and Water", he added. If we receive it by the end of May, we expect the Strategy to be approved at national level by the end of June and to present it to the European Commission.
In the words of Velik Zanchev currently the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications follows a long-term transport development strategy based on a number of analyzes on the state of the sector. The Deputy Minister pointed out that the implementation of strategic objectives and priorities in the transport sector is in line with European policies and documents.
