We ensure good management of state-owned companies and offer the best possible service by introduction of intelligent transport systems, Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev stated during the opening of the first "Transport and logistics" conference. The forum is organized by the Industrial Cluster Srednogorie and is under the patronage of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.
Deputy Minister Zanchev gave as an example the successful management of business processes through the system for management and planning of resources introduced in the National Railway Infrastructure Company, the Port Infrastructure Company and “BDZ-Cargo”.
"Communication between the business and the state is an important factor for the development of the economy, hence, the construction of intermodal terminals near the industrial zones is one of our priorities", Zanchev said.
The Deputy Minister noted with regard to railway infrastructure and its modernization by EU funds, that signaling and telecommunication systems are being constructed and the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS) is being introduced in parallel with the linear infrastructure. "Thus, we ensure not only the safety of the railway transport but also the quality of the service offered", he added.
"The connectivity of the Western Balkans and the completion of IV, VIII and X Corridors has been a leading topic in recent months and a top priority for the Bulgarian Presidency and the European Union. We expect specific decisions to be made in the near future on the realization of the remaining sections in these directions, as they are important for the implementation of transport links between Europe and Asia”, Velin Zanchev underlined.
The Director of the National Transport Policy Directorate at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Dimitar Savov made a presentation in the first panel of the event on "Modern transport policy of Bulgaria". He compared the priorities in the European and the national transport policy and also outlined the instruments for the development of the Trans-European Transport Network.
