In order to optimize transportations and reduce losses for the business, it is vital to deploy joint cross-border control authorities between Bulgaria and Turkey, and Turkey and Greece, as well as one-stop-shop servicing, announced Velik Zantchev, Deputy Minister of Transport, information Technology and Communications, at the opening of the 33rd session of the General Assembly of the International Road Transport Union to the Organization of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation. The main topic of today’s session is facilitating procedures for cross-border transits between the Republic of Bulgaria and the Republic of Turkey.
Deputy Minister Zantchev highlighted in his speech that international transport faces cross-border transit difficulties. “Each delay at cross-border check points results in additional expenses and time loss, which in turn, leads to reducing supply chain efficiency”, added Zantchev.
“Our state has undertaken a series of measures to achieve coherence with neighboring countries at cross-border check points and to facilitate procedures through electronic communication instead of paper-based”, commented further the Transport Deputy Minister. He pinpointed the fact that during the Bulgarian Presidency, the country has engaged significant efforts to eliminate the different interpretations of European legislation leading to market fragmentation
