Our seaports have serious potential. In recent years, the port of Burgas has been developing well and we should turn our focus to the port of Varna so that we are not bypassed. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Zhivko Petrov during the First Annual Forum for Transport, Logistics and Forwarding, organized by the magazine "Manager".
"Bulgaria is well positioned geographically, and to carry out combined transport by land, air and water, three pillars are needed - a regulatory framework, infrastructure and multimodal operators. The regulatory framework is the responsibility of the state and Bulgaria is no different from other European countries. The last barrier to the free movement of goods and people by land is about to be removed", Zhivko Petrov pointed out.
The development of intermodal transport is a top priority for our country. Connectivity between different transport networks will optimise supply chains and contribute to reducing traffic on the national road network.
