Four tenders have been submitted for the supply of 35 trains with RRP funds

The tenders submitted in the tendering procedure without prior announcement for the supply of 35 electric multiple units to be purchased with Recovery and Sustainability Plan funds were opened today.

A total of four bidders have submitted documents in the tender, the deadline for which expired yesterday. These are PESA, Alstom, Škoda and Stadler Polska. The appointed committee is to examine the bids and negotiate with the companies within a short period of time.

We would like to remind you that the procedure for the supply of 35 single-deck trains was opened at the beginning of the year, but the technical specifications of the two bidders who submitted offers did not meet the requirements. Taking into account the complexity and specificity of the contract, by decision of Minister Georgi Gvozdeykov, the Ministry of Transport and Communications switched to a negotiated procedure without prior announcement. ‘We will invite a wide range of participants to the negotiations in order to achieve maximum competition and to ensure transparency we will also invite representatives of the European Commission to monitor the negotiation process’, Minister Gvozdeykov explained at the time.
