Since the beginning of June, there is new work organization to the inspectors Road Transport Administration Executive Agency. This is what the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov announced at the start of the non-scheduled inspections of the Road Transport Administration Executive Agency for control of passenger and cargo transportation.
"I have ordered the inspectors in the teams to exchange daily on a rotating basis. This will limit the interconnections and relations between the inspectors and the inspected, which creates an environment for unregulated practices. With the new organization, the inspectors will not know in advance who will work with whom and where the next day", Georgi Todorov said.
He pointed out that non-scheduled inspections were starting, in which between 60 and 70 teams would take part. "Inspections will be carried out daily at various locations across the country, with changing team members and control locations. This will increase the quality and efficiency of the work of the inspectors themselves. This will also have a disciplining effect on the activities of companies and leaders", Minister Georgi Todorov said.
Inspectors will monitor compliance with driving and rest times for drivers, requirements for the carriage of passengers and goods, the general technical condition of vehicles and the regularity of documents. "Scales will be placed to check the weight of the trucks in order to prevent overloading, which is a prerequisite for accidents and destruction of road infrastructure", Minister Georgi Todorov added.
Today, 35 trucks have been inspected on the territory of Road Transport Administration Regional Directorate - Sofia. 17 acts have been drawn up. The main violations are lack of documents, non-observance of driving and rest times, without an annual technical inspection. In one of the cases, a driver, a third-country national, working for a Bulgarian company without a mandatory certificate was identified.
"Since the beginning of the year, 7067 acts have been drawn up, which is twice as many for the same period last year. 6063 penal decrees were issued at a total value of BGN 3 677 160, with a serious increase in the amounts of the imposed sanctions by nearly BGN 1 million", the Executive Director of the Road Transport Administration Executive Agency Boyko Ranovski said.
