As of today, DG Civil Aviation Administration (DG CAA) starts issuing electronic documents for 46 of their administrative services. This was announced by the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova during the conference "International Connectivity - the Key for Sustainable Growth of Bulgarian Tourism", which is held in Sofia.
"The introduction of more e-services in all sectors is extremely important to facilitate business and consumers," Minister Krasimira Stoyanova said. She pointed out that the electronic processing of some of the services of the DG CAA eliminates the need for documents to be signed and transmitted on paper. "This is important for companies in the aviation industry because they operate both domestically and on all continents. The transition to electronic documents will shorten the time for their issuance and reduce the financial costs for aviation companies," the Transport Minister added.
Some of the most important documents that can be requested electronically from today are: Air Operator's Certificate (AOC); Community Air Carrier Operating Licence; Certificate of Registration and De-registration; Certificates of Approved Training Organisations; Airworthiness Certificates and Airworthiness Review Certificates, etc.
Minister Krasimira Stoyanova stressed that over the last year there has been a steady growth in the aviation sector in Bulgaria and more and more airlines are choosing our market, which has a positive effect on tourist and business traffic.
"Sofia Airport currently serves flights to 46 countries, and with the construction of Terminal 3, we expect Sofia Airport to become a key regional hub. Our maritime airports are also developing extremely well. Very good investments were made there and for the first time we saw how our national airports can develop. In this regard, we have great expectations for Sofia Airport because we deserve to have one of the best airports in Europe and I hope that we will have it," said Minister Stoyanova.
Today's conference is organised by the National Tourism Board in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism. The event was attended by the Minister of Tourism Evtim Miloshev, the Minister of Regional Development and Public Works Violeta Koritarova-Kasabova, as well as representatives of various institutions, NGOs, business organizations and companies.
