Purchase of 80 new vehicles and 10 new laboratories for the inspectors of the Exectuve Agency Road Transport Administration, equalisation and increase of salaries, as well as new clothing for all employees. These are some of the measures included in the proposed budget of the Ministry of Transport and Communications for next year.
It was discussed today during a meeting between the Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeykov, Deputy Minister Dimitar Nedyalkov, the leadership of the EARTA and representatives of the trade unions of the KT ‘Podkrepa’ in the Agency.
‘The ministry is implementing the programme agreed with the trade unions in August this year, but once the new budget comes into force we will have the necessary tools to accelerate the reforms,’ Minister Gvozdeikov stressed. In his words, the draft law on the state budget for 2024 provides for the provision of additional 150 staff positions for the needs of the Agency, which will significantly improve the control activities. ‘We are working on the request for equalisation and increase of the employees' salaries, as this should be in line with the Civil Servant Act and the Labour Code,’ Georgi Gvozdeykov further explained.
There is already a draft Decree of the Council of Ministers on amendment and supplement to the Statutory Regulations of the Exectuve Agency Road Transport Administration, which provides for the structure of the Agency to be amended in accordance with the request of the trade unions. The draft decree has been published for public discussion, after which it will be examined at the level of the Council of Ministers, it became clear during the meeting.
