The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Hristo Alexiev performed a check on the Project for a direct road connection between Sofia Airport (Terminal 2) and “Brussels” Blvd. He visited the construction site and inspected the progress of the construction-installation works, as earlier today he has met the Project Contractors.
Minister Alexiev required from the Construction company additional mobilization of the human resources and updated work schedule. He took a personal commitment to perform monitoring on the Project, which must be completed under the contract until February 2018. Hristo Alexiev asked the Construction consortium to complete the road connection until November 2017.
Minister Alexiev found that the constructors have not elaborated designs for two crossings – gas and electrical. The lack of these designs may be critical for the Project completion. It is necessary the designs to be elaborated, and coordinated in short term for not having influence to the completion of the overall Project.
The new bridge and the road connections to it will realize the speed road link with “Brussels” Blvd. and consequently from the city center to the Sofia Airport. The Minister also stated that apart from being a significant entrance road link for the city, the adjacent infrastructure is an important part for the presentation of our country during the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of EU in 2018.
