Thanks to the efforts of the institutions in Bulgaria and Azerbaijan, the first regular airline between the two countries is already a fact. This was announced by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski during the official reception of the first Baku-Sofia direct flight.
Minister Ivaylo Moskovski expressed confidence that regular flights between the two countries will stimulate the development of bilateral relations in all spheres and will give people access to an affordable and comfortable journey. In his words, this airline was a symbol of the deepening friendship between the two peoples and states, and would ease the implementation of many projects.
The new line Baku-Sofia is 77th for Sofia Airport. Azerbaijan Airlines, through its Buta Airways structure, is the 28th airline to fly to Bulgaria's largest airport, which has enjoyed a 30% increase in passenger traffic over the last year. The airline will fly once a week on Tuesday.
