Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov met with the Chair of the European People’s Party and a leading candidate for President of the European Commission Manfred Weber. The meeting was also attended by the Bulgarian MEP Andrey Kovatchev.
Minister Jeliazkov acquainted Manfred Weber with the Bulgarian position on legislative proposals regarding Mobility Package I and asked for the EPP Group's support in the European Parliament. During the meeting he outlined once again the major topics for Bulgaria and the other supporting countries – the return of the driver and the vehicle within every four weeks as well as the non-implementation of the Directive concerning the posting of workers as regards to bilateral transport operations within the EU.
Rossen Jeliazkov informed the Chair of the EPP Group in the European parliament that the Bulgarian government and the prime minister Boyko Borissov strongly support the forthcoming protest of international hauliers on Thursday in Brussels.
