Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova held a second meeting with representatives of driving schools. During today's talks, the promulgated changes to the regulations on driver training and testing were discussed. Minister Stoyanova pointed out that she will require the developers of the information system for digitalization of the documents related to the theoretical and practical training to complete their work earlier than the planned 5 months.
"I assure you that we will do everything possible to have the system ready before the deadline so that we have more time to check its capabilities and test it together. If we identify issues or gaps we will work to deliver an effective and workable product that benefits the industry and learners. After the completion of the tests and implementation of this system, there is a further period of 5 months during which the training centres will be able to keep records electronically or on paper," the Transport Minister said. According to her, this will give additional time to clear up any errors that have occurred.
The sectoral organisations declared their support for the digitisation of documents related to theoretical and practical training. Various questions and issues surrounding their work were raised. Minister Stoyanova ordered the representatives of the administration participating in the meeting to take immediate action to address and resolve the issues raised.
