At least 3 times shorter deadlines for the construction of telecommunication facilities could be achieved if the changes prepared by the Ministry of Transport and Communications to the Law on Electronic Communications Networks and Physical Infrastructure are adopted. This was stated by the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova at a meeting today with the mobile operators.
"So far, it takes more than a year to go through the administrative procedures and our goal is to have the preparations ready in no more than four months," she added. Minister Stoyanova stressed that she will raise the issue this week at her first meeting with the Transport and Communications Committee in the National Assembly.
The preparation of the state aid notification for the project for broadband connectivity in sparsely populated areas is ongoing, it became clear during the meeting. It is implemented under the Recovery and Sustainability Plan and envisages 400 000 Bulgarians in hard-to-reach and remote areas of the country to have high-speed internet.
