Minister Stoyanova held a meeting with the Executive Director of Bulgaria Heli Med Service EAD Dimcho Dobrev, at which she requested the presentation of a report and up-to-date information on the activities of the company. In the report, the Executive Director provides information that, in connection with the performance of mandatory regulated maintenance events and after 200 flight hours, the helicopter will not be in operational readiness during the period from 12 September 2024 to 27 September 2024.
This period will also be used for the installation of the so-called black box and the integration of the software, which have passed all the necessary licensing exams. The manufacturer, Leonardo, has informed the Ministry of Health by letter of intent that it will provide competent technical personnel to install the registrar.
In order to secure the health and lives of Bulgarian citizens in case of an emergency, the existing mechanisms will be applied under the Council of Ministers' Decision No. 898 of 2009 and the Joint Order of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, the Minister of Defence and the Minister of Health of 2010. They allow, at the request of the Minister of Health, the use of military aircraft to provide emergency medical assistance by air.
