For the first time Bulgaria is hosting one of the most prestigious international aviation forums and this means a lot for our country and for the sector. This was stated by the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova at the opening of Aviation Event 2024 SOF.
"Aviation is the sector that shows that the model of cooperation between the state and the private sector is effective. This is proven once again by the concession of the airports in Sofia, Burgas and Varna", added Minister Stoyanova.
"Bulgarian aviation has its traditions and its future in the development of our economy," said Minister Stoyanova. She added that the big themes for the sector are the use of cleaner and more sustainable energy sources and how new technologies, including artificial intelligence, can improve the efficiency and convenience of flights. "Of course, health and safety measures are paramount in any transport," the minister said.
Following the positive opinion of the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the procedure provides for the President to issue a decree for naming a site of national importance after the Apostle of Freedom Vasil Levski. The forum was opened by SOF Connect CEO Jesus Caballero and Marcel Rivalski - CEO of Aviation-Event. Over 200 aviation industry leaders and experts are participating in the event.
