“Because of the Bulgarian Socialist Party the last engine repair shop in Bulgaria was closed down. We have included the construction and equipment of a new engine repair facility in the call for tender for new rolling stock”, announced the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski at a special briefing on false statements publicly made by the opposition.
Minister Moskovski recalled that in 2009 BDZ’s obligations amounted to 850 million levs, while at present they are 330 million levs. The same trend is visible with the operational losses of the company – in 2009 they amount to 68 million levs, compared to present-day 15 million levs. “These are the figures, they are obvious and the company is getting stable”, he added.
“There is no way for the financial indicators of a company to improve if there is corruption, as the colleagues from the opposition claim. It is either that during BSP terms of office it was horrific, so as to generate such losses for the company, or the claims that we do not perform well is invalid. They can say we were corrupt, we tore down the company, lead it to its bankruptcy or the other – good job, you did better!” commented Minister Moskovski.
The National Audit Office is already at BDZ and has been carrying out an inspection in the company for three months, and whoever is interested in the data and can be acquainted with them as they are completed”, Moskovski said in relation to the statements on the topic.
Ivaylo Moskovski ordered BDZ football team to be closed down to stop the speculations on the topic.
The employee making threats over a telephone conversation disclosed by the media was dismissed. “Although I do not know anyone who records their telephone calls when they talk”, commented Minister Moskovski.
Regarding the State Automobile Inspectorate, the Minister noted that it is obvious whether there is or was a political umbrella in the structure. "During my term of office there is the largest number of arrested and dismissed employees, compared to none during BSP mandate." Ivaylo Moskovski was firm. The head of the District Department of Automobile Administration - Sofia, who was dismissed today, has presented a counterfeit medical note, as proved by the Ministry of Health's expertise, while the second medical note is now being investigated.
