The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Ivaylo Moskovski met yesterday the First Vice President of Iran Eshaq Jahangiri. This happened during the visit of Minister Ivaylo Moskovski and the delegation headed by him in Iran, where from 6 to March 9, 2016 took place the Eighteenth Session of the Intergovernmental Bulgarian-Iranian commission for economic, scientific and technical co-operation.
During the talks Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri confirmed the agreements reached during the meetings of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission and expressed satisfaction with the progress made in the relations between Bulgaria and Iran.
On his part, Minister Ivaylo Moskovski pointed out that the Bulgarian side attaches great importance to the development of connections with Iran. Among the priority areas of cooperation for our country Minister Moskovski distinguished trade, transport, energy, investment and tourism. He added that the Bulgarian side makes efforts to normalize financial and banking co-operation between Bulgaria and Iran, actively informing the banking sector on the repealed restrictive measures against Iran in relation to financial, banking and insurance activities.
Minister Ivaylo Moskovski reiterated the key role of transport for increasing trade turnover and stressed the significance of developing multimodal transport corridor connecting Iran with Bulgaria through the Black Sea to the countries of Central and Eastern Europe.
