The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov validated a postage stamp on 140 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Bulgaria and Russia.
"There is a profound tradition of marriage, related to fraternal and friendly relations between the two countries," the minister said at the ceremony. He reminded that five years ago a philatelic edition dedicated to the 135th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the two countries was launched and last year a mark was printed on the occasion of the 140th anniversary of the Russian-Turkish war.
Minister Jeliazkov stressed that the marks are both expressions of the centuries-old formal diplomatic relations and informal ties. "This is reflected in the graphic image of the brand - the interlaced flags of Bulgaria and Russia, which are a symbol of past, present and future among our peoples," the minister also said.
