Minister Stoyanova: I won't take a step back on digitalisation in motor vehicle driver training

I will not take a step backwards in terms of digitalisation in the motor vehicle driver education process. This was stated by the Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova during a meeting today with representatives of the branch organizations of the driving schools in the country. She informed that the amendments to Ordinance 37 and Ordinance 38 related to the training process and the driving tests for the candidates for motor vehicle drivers are expected to be promulgated in the State Gazette tomorrow.

"Road safety is our common responsibility and that is why I believe that with these changes we will ensure better control and stricter observance of the rules by instructors," Minister Stoyanova said. The changes to the regulations provide for the digitisation of documents related to the theoretical and practical training of prospective drivers, as well as a number of measures to reduce the administrative burden for training centres. It is envisaged that the training schedule, the training diary and the training card of each trainee will become electronic.

Representatives of the branch organisations made suggestions on the methodology for allocating the hours for the practical examinations, how to disconnect the regional structures of the Executive agency"Road transport administration” and the examiners in these regions, and instructors should not take part in the practical examinations of their students. Minister Stoyanova instructed the Executive agency"Road transport administration” to consider all the proposals and problems by Friday and present concrete solutions to each of them.
