The Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova signed the protocol for increasing the capital of Bulgarian Posts EAD by BGN 50 million

The decision is decisive for the future development of the company and for guaranteeing postal services in hard-to-reach and sparsely populated areas

The Minister of Transport and Communications Krasimira Stoyanova signed the protocol for increasing the capital of Bulgarian Posts EAD by BGN 50 million. This is a very important step for the recovery, improvement of liquidity and solvency of the company. With the capital increase, Bulgarian Post EAD will cease to be a company in difficulty and will be able to receive from the state budget the actual proven costs for the implementation of the universal postal service and the service of payment of pensions through post offices.  The receipt of the actual amount of compensation for the services provided and the provision of capital for the implementation of the planned investments by "Bulgarian Posts" EAD will lead to a significant increase in the quality of the services provided by the company, as well as to the improvement of the working conditions of the employees.

The effective capital increase of "Bulgarian Post" EAD is a guarantee for the expansion of financing opportunities through credits that are in line with the usual market principles. Negotiations are already underway with the Bulgarian Development Bank to obtain a bond loan and secure long-term financing for the company.

In order to guarantee the implementation of the universal postal service for the period of the Restructuring Plan, an Act amending the Postal Services Act has been submitted to the National Assembly. The draft law provides for the term of the universal postal service obligation to be until 2030. The aim is to guarantee the right of every citizen, regardless of their social status, purchasing power and geographical location, to have access to a minimum package of services of a certain quality and at an affordable price. The Bill provides that the company will be entitled to receive the full amount of compensation.
