The construction of new railway connections to the industrial facilities was topic of the meeting between the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Hristo Alexiev and the Minister of Economy Teodor Sedlarski.
The idea is stipulated in a five-year investment programme of National Railway Infrastructure Company. In the programme are envisaged approximately 40 mln. BGN for construction of new industrial tracks (sidings) to the manufacturing bases in the country. The railway network of Bulgaria is designed and constructed within different compared to the present social-economic conditions, which imposes its update.
During the conversation, Minister Hristo Alexiev required assistance from the Minister Teodor Sedlarski for promoting the concept among the business in Bulgaria, and in particular among the newly constructed industrial zones.
From NRIC side is expected to be prepared an analysis for the return of the investment as well as an assessment of the volume of potential freights.
The construction of new railway connections to the manufacturing zones will lead to economic benefits as for the railway infrastructure and railway undertakings as well as for the business.
