The Minister of Transport, Information Technologies and Communications Georgi Todorov and the rector of the University of Telecommunications and Posts Prof. Dr. Miglena Temelkova signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two institutions. This year marks 140 years since the establishment of the State Telegraph and Postal School, established in 1881 by decree of Prince Alexander Battenberg, whose successor today is the University of Telecommunications and Posts.
"The document provides the promotion of innovative educational products that are synchronized with the needs of employers and government institutions. The memorandum will help the administration to attract trained staff, "said Minister Todorov during the ceremony. He explained that experts from the ministry would help in developing joint curricula in the field of information technology and communications.
The Rector of the University of Telecommunications and Posts, Prof. Dr. Miglena Temelkova, emphasized that the cooperation between the two institutions is of strategic importance for the development of the ICT sector in Bulgaria. "The best staff in the field of information technology and communications are our graduates and we are proud of the success and realization of our students."
Mr. Georgi Todorov said that the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications is one of the most active in attracting interns and students in various programs. "Hundreds of young people have been given the chance to take their first steps in the profession. "After more than a year in which communication, work processes, including internships were online, we can now reopen to support the career development of young people in the country," said the Minister.
