Minister of Transport and Communications Nikolay Sabev suggested that the requirement to replace the electronic taxi devices be postponed by 6 months. With the provision that came into force on July 8, 2022, electronic taxi devices must have assessed compliance under the Law on Technical Requirements for Products.
Minister Nikolay Sabev took this commitment during a meeting with representatives of the taxi industry at the end of May. The Ministry of Transport and Communications drafted a bill to amend and supplement the Road Transport Act, Art. 12, para. 7, item 2, with which the conformity for assessment of electronic taxi devices enters into force from January 8, 2023.
The proposal has been filed in the Registry of the National Assembly and has been allocated to the Committee on Transport and Communications.
