The establishment of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria 30 years ago leaves a very serious mark in all aspects of Bulgarian political and social life. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Alexander Pulev during a validation ceremony of a postal and philatelic publication dedicated to the anniversary.
In the modern history of the Bulgarian state there is hardly an organization that has enjoyed so much attention and honor from the point of view of Bulgarian stamp issuance, the Deputy Minister added. He recalled that the first brand was created in 1994 and it was on the theme of "Space". "Now, on the occasion of this solemn anniversary, we have kept the theme. The artist Prof. Todor Vardzhiev was inspired by the initiative of the Atlantic Club "Hello, Cosmos". It gave Bulgarian students the opportunity to come into direct contact and communication with NASA astronauts, "said Alexander Pulev.
The project of the brand uses documentary photographs related to significant events for the organization. World and Bulgarian politicians and public figures can be recognized in the photos - Bill Clinton, Margaret Thatcher, Pope John Paul II, Lech Walesa, Zhelyu Zhelev, Peter Stoyanov, Simeon Saxe-Coburg-Gotha, Peter Uvaliev, Svetlin Rusev.
The issue consists of two postage stamps printed on a small sheet. A special variety has also been created for collectors.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Effective Governance Kalina Konstantinova, the US Ambassador to Bulgaria HE Hero Mustafa, the chairman of the Atlantic Club of Bulgaria Solomon Passy, the Bulgarian president in the period 1997-2002 Petar Stoyanov, the executive director of Bulgarian Posts Deyan Daneshki, diplomats and members of the public took part in the validation of the postage stamp.
