Within 10 days, specific changes will be proposed to optimize the process of activating and deactivating hail suppression sites. This is one of the conclusions of a meeting at the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. The talks were attended by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov, the Minister of Agriculture, Food and Forestry Hristo Bozukov, the Commander of the Air Force Major General Dimitar Petrov, the Director General of the Civil Aviation Administration Hristo Shterionov, the Executive Director of Hail Suppression Executive Agency Vanyo Slaveev and the BULATSA Director General Georgi Peev.
Minister Georgi Todorov said that the legal framework regulating the use of Bulgarian airspace in the operation of hail suppression sites would be reviewed. He emphasized that no compromise should be made with the safety of people and flights. The range of the rockets launched does not endanger the flying traffic, but they are extremely dangerous for the aircraft that take off or land, as well as for those that fly at low altitude.
