Reconstruction of railway infrastructure from Ruse to Kaspichan will enable trains to run at design speeds. This will significantly improve the traffic on the first railway line built in Bulgaria. Within the framework of the projects, the railway lines are being renovated, LED lighting and video surveillance are being installed, the reception buildings and the systems that control the run of trains are being renewed.
Modernization covers the sites of the railway infrastructure in the section from Ruse Railway Yard to Kaspichan Railway Station. Restoration of the design parameters along the entire railway line creates better conditions for regional and national railway transport.
In the area of Yastrebovo Railway Station a complete optimization of the station is being carried out. This includes the construction of electronic centralizations and telecommunications systems, efficient drainage, longer tracks and new platforms. The repair works at Senovo Railway Station are identical and also include the reconstruction of the tracks and the switches, as the new railway line is 2 016 m.
In the section Samuil-Visoka Polyana the renewed railway lines are 5 950 m, and between Hitrino and Pliska 13 140 m have been modernized.
The first railway line built in Bulgaria is Ruse-Varna and has a total length of 222.7 km as of the date of its opening - November 7, 1866. The length of the railway line from Ruse Railway Yard to Kaspichan Railway Station is 137,470 km. The last repairs for the renewal of the railway were carried out in separate areas between stations, mainly in the period 1976-1996, with the exception of the section Senovo-Prostorno, renovated in 2017.
