Information and communication technology is the fastest growing sector, which is entirely brought to light - with more than 10,000 companies that produce and sell goods and services for over 8 billion levs. This was stated by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Valery Borissov during the opening of the ICT career day. The event was organized at the initiative of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications and the main partners are the Bulgarian Association for Information Technology and the National Palace of Culture. The forum allows young people who pursue careers in technology and communications to get information about vacancies directly from employees who evaluate candidates for employment and training.
"Here are senior executives of some of the best IT companies as well as people who have recently pursued your path", with these words the Deputy Minister turned to the students and the pupils who participated in the event. He added that the Career Day is an event at which young people can learn how to improve CV writing and specialize their education. According to Valery Borissov, one of the most sought-after skills is the knowledge of complex computer languages, but those who are not tempted by such a complex matter may also take a direction of development.
"What you learn today will help you set clear objectives and focus on preparation for the IT career", said also Deputy Minister Valery Borissov.
The Gross domestic product may increase by 3-4 %, in case of sufficient trained IT specialists, said at the opening the Chairman of the Board of the Bulgarian Association for Information Technology Petar Ivanov.
