Transport Ministers of Bulgaria and Kazakhstan discussed multimodal connectivity between the two countries

The Minister of Transport and Communications Georgi Gvozdeykov and the Minister of Transport of Kazakhstan Marat Karabaev held an online meeting to discuss the development of transport links between the two countries. Deputy Ministers of Transport and Communications Anna Natova and Dimitar Nedyalkov also took part in the meeting.

The Bulgarian side stressed that the Bulgarian ports have spare capacity and opportunities to increase the cargo turnover between Bulgaria and Kazakhstan. With the increase in turnover, the ports of Varna and Burgas have the capacity to receive the cargo coming from Kazakhstan via the Black Sea. The two ministers agreed that there is potential for developing transport connectivity between Asia and Europe. The signing of a memorandum of understanding for better transport and logistics connectivity between the countries was also discussed.

The representatives of the Bulgarian ministry invited a visit of companies from Kazakhstan to our two Black Sea ports in order to get acquainted with their capabilities and capacities.
