Twice as many train tickets have been purchased through the BDZ website since the beginning of the year. In March, more than 8,700 tickets were reserved and paid for through the website, and more than 24,000 visitors were recorded. In the first days of the mandate, the Minister of Transport and Communications Nikolay Sabev assigned BDZ - Passenger Transport EOOD, together with Information Services AD to improve the system for electronic ticketing.
The updated site allows faster access to information and online services. To make it easier for consumers to purchase one or more tickets, new features have been added. The feedback to the user in case of errors or omissions in filling in information has been improved. The system marks, indicates and prompts for corrections of the submitted data, and the process of saving the data when purchasing with a discount document is automated.
New elements have been added and most of the processes for purchasing train tickets and discounted transport documents have been automated. Defects in the ticket reservation and purchase system have been eliminated. The functionality when using the system via mobile devices has also been improved.
Work on improving the website continues. The goal is to make it easier for customers who use the site via mobile devices. They currently generate about 80% of site visits.
