The Executive Director of Executive Agency “Automobile Administration”, Krasimir Srebrov attends the World Forum for Vehicle Regulation Harmonization. The event takes place in Geneva, Switzerland from 13 to 16 March, 2018. Representatives from 87 countries, including all EU Member States, as well as Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkey, the United States, Canada, Australia, China, Japan, South Korea, India and others, are participating in the international meeting.
During the sessions, proposals for amendments of various regulations of the Agreement, which regulates the technical prescriptions, equipment and parts that can be fitted in vehicles, are considered. Ideas for adopting uniform prescriptions for the periodic technical inspections and their mutual recognition as well as changing the requirements for the equipment, training of the technical specialists and control of the points are discussing at the meetings.
The Agreement is being developed and amended at international level by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe (UNECE). It coordinates the requirements and removes the technical barriers to the trade in motor vehicles between the Contracting Parties, including Bulgaria. This ensures a high level of safety and protection.
The other topics of the conference are the development of the IWVTA, the Intelligent Transport Systems, the improvement of the DETA and the regulation of automated vehicles, and more.
