Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications Anna Natova participated in the opening of the seventh and first new state-owned hospital heliport outside Sofia. It is located in the "Dr. Stefan Cherkezov" Hospital in Veliko Tarnovo. As part of the ceremony, the first medical helicopter made a demonstration landing at the newly constructed facility.
Deputy Minister Natova explained that so far Bulgaria has 3 heliports in Sofia and 1 each in Varna, Panagyurishte and Ruse. She added that by the end of the month the mandatory training program of the six pilots of the Bulgarian helicopter will be completed.
According to her, the emergency air ambulance is not just one of all the projects that the Ministry of Transport and Communications is implementing. It is a cause that is about saving lives.
The event was also attended by Deputy Minister of Health Petko Stefanovski, Mayor of Veliko Tarnovo Daniel Panov, Chairman of the Health Committee in the National Assembly Kostadin Angelov, Regional Governor Ivaylo Zdravkov, MPs and others.
