This event is part of a series of roundtables, to help ITU and our members to prepare for the forthcoming World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC). The WTDC sets the strategies and objectives for the development of telecommunications/ICT, providing future direction and guidance to the ITU Telecommunication Development Sector (ITU-D). This year the WTDC will take place in Addis Ababa from 8-19 November 2021. ITU believe that WTDC will provide a real opportunity to the global community to come together and provide a boost to our joint efforts to ensure that everyone is able to benefit from the power of digital technologies – both in coping with and recovery from this unprecedent crisis, but also in the long term. A solid economic evidence base, which we hope you will help us build, is a crucial pre-condition to define right strategies in this regard.
