At 15:02 UTC on 8 September 2016, an infringement of the minimum standards of radar separation between two aircrafts transiting the upper airspace of Bulgaria was committed in the controlled airspace, family sector Sofia-East. Aircraft Airbus A321-211, reg. marks TC-ATF, of “Atlasjet" performing flight KKK8YJ and Boeing 737-8F2, reg. marks TC-JVS of “Turkish Airlines” performing flight THY4AV, passed by each other at a minimal horizontal distance of 1,2 NM at FL 363 without any vertical separation. After the separation between aircraft was recovered, the flight crew of KKK8YJ reported a technical problem and flight crew of THY4AV reported “TCAS RA.
On 4 June 2016 at 15:19 UTC in the controlled airspace of the Republic of Bulgaria, sector “Sofia-West”, it was admitted a violation of the standard for safe minimum separation between aircraft transiting in the upper airspace of Bulgaria. Airbus A320-232 aircraft, registration marks TC-ATK of AO “Atlasjet” performing flight KKK5LP and Boeing 737-8F2 aircraft, registration marks TC-JGF of AO “Turkish Airlines”, flight THY7FX, passed each other with minimal horizontal distance of 2,6 nm and 500 ft. vertical separation. Due to the approach admitted, the automated collision avoidance systems (ACAS) on board of both aircrafts reacted. Both pilots in command reported “TCAS RA”.
On 30.06.2015 at 12:26 h UTC, in the controlled upper airspace of the Republic of Bulgaria, particularly in Sofia Control FS Varna East Upper airspace an infringement of the standards on the minimum radar separation between two aircraft occurred. An unidentified unknown aircraft flying without two way radio communication and without transmitting transponder (Mode A/C) passed by a controlled aircraft Falcon 900, registration marks VP-CGD, of „VOLKSWAGEN AIR SERVICE” AO, performing flight with flight number WGT62N, at a minimal horizontal distance at 0.9 nm at same FL 370. Later on the unidentified unknown aircraft established radio communication with Sofia ACC FS Varna West and it was identified as Embraer 170 aircraft, registration marks SP-LDK, performing flight with flight number LOT7293 of „LOT” AO
On 11.02.2015 aircraft FALCON 2000, registration marks LZ–ООІ, operated by the air operator “Aviodetachment 28”, takes off from Sofia Airport for the performance of flight BGF 004 on route SOF-BRU. After takeoff, the left main stand of the landing gear (L/G) does not retract. The crew fulfills the relevant control card and drops down the L/G, then takes a decision for spending a part of the fuel and landing at Sofia Airport. Two approaches are carried out for visual check from the ground of the L/G position and landing is carried out normally. There are not any consequences for the passengers, the crew and the aircraft
On 02.08.2015 at about 11.00 a.m. in the land domain of Uzundzhovo village, Haskovo district, upon its try to take off from an unregulated temporary flight platform, helicopter R22 BETA, without registration marks, undergoes a crash. Two persons without capability to operate the helicopter are found onboard, the one of them, occupying the left seat, has piloted the helicopter. The persons are not injured but the helicopter is destroyed
On 27.07.2015 aircraft P92-JS, registration marks LZ-DBV, operated by “Ratan” OOD Aviation Training Center, takes off from RWY 27 at Dolna Banya airfield for the performance of a training flight. After the takeoff, between the first and the second bend, the instructor simulates an engine failure, upon the selection of a platform for forced landing and landing simulation, the aircraft lands in an unmowed meadow suffering substantial damages. The instructor and the trained pilot leave the aircraft without having got any injuries
