Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications
Angel Zaburtov has over 25 years of experience in the field of water transport and port services. He has held various management positions in the Ministry of Transport and Communications and in private companies.
In 2003 he started working in the Executive Agency "Port Administration", which was later transformed into the "Ports" National Company and subsequently into the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company. In the period 2013-2021 he was a member of the Management Board of the Bulgarian Ports Infrastructure Company, holding the post of a Director-General for almost 9 years.
Angel Zaburtov graduated from the Technical University of Varna. He holds a post-graduate qualification from the University of Economics, Varna. He has received specialized Port Management training in Singapore and the United States, and “Container Terminal Management” in Belgium.
He has completed a specialized course in senior port management at the International Maritime Organization (IMO). He has been a member of several international organisations as a national representative: the European Sea Ports Organisation (ESPO), the International Association of Ports and Harbors (IAPH), the European Federation of Inland Ports (EFIP), the World Organisation for Waterborne Transport Infrastructure (PIANC) and others.
He is fluent in English and Russian.
