Deputy Minister of Transport and Communications
Mr. Grigory Grigorov is a seasoned executive with more than 20 years of experience in managing private and state-owned companies in the telecommunications industry and railway transport.
He holds a Master's degree in Radio and Television from Technical University, Sofia and a Master of Business Administration (MBA General Management) from City University, Seattle.
He began his professional career as a development engineer in a small private company. He was an assistant professor and a PhD student at Theoretical Electrotechnique Department of Technical University, Sofia.
Over the years he has held various management positions in Bulgarian and international telecommunications companies in several emerging markets. Among them are Virgin Connect (part of Sir Richard Branson's Virgin group), Telelink Holding BV, ALEM Communications Holding, Eurokom Cable Management Bulgaria EAD, Cable Bulgaria AD, Union Television AD, to name a few.
He is a founder and a former management member of CEO Angels Club, supporting the Bulgarian start-up ecosystem. He was a managing partner at Sofia Angel Ventures – a VC fund, supported by EIF as a main shareholder, dedicated to invest in start-up and seed stage companies across EU.
Between December 2018 and June 2021 he was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Holding BDZ EAD, the Bulgarian state-owned passenger and freight Railway Company.
He is fluent in English and Russian languages.
