The Railway Administration Executive Agency has established itself as a guarantor for the sustainable development and safe operation of railway transport. The Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications stated this at an event dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the agency.

"Responsible state policy and the attraction of foreign investment will contribute to achieving sustainable connectivity, accelerated economic development and improvement of competitiveness in Eastern Europe", Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov stated at the opening of the Transport panel at the business forum of the Three Seas 2021 initiative, hosted by Bulgaria.

The online training system of Executive Agency “Railway Administration” is due to be upgraded by the end of 2021, the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications announced at the opening of a new room in Plovdiv for conduct of electronic tests of the individuals responsible for safety of railway transport.

Driving tests in Sofia will be carried out in a renovated building, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov stated during the opening of the room in the Regional Department of EA “Road Transport Administration”. According to him, the new rooms of the test center are separated from the main building, where the employees of the regional department are located, which will separate the flows of people.

Joint actions are needed to ensure free traffic and maintain the functioning of the Green Lanes between Bulgaria and Romania, the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov stated during a meeting with the State Secretary ат the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of Romania Adrian Covăsnianu in Vidin.

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov discussed with the Ambassador of Greece to Bulgaria Dimitrios Chronopoulos the opportnities for improving traffic and free movement of people and goods through the border crossings with our southern neighbor. The criteria for qualification of airfields at international airports are ready, as announced by Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Christina Velinova during a conference on the occasion of the 74th anniversary of the Bulgarian Civil Aviation. According to her, the amendments to Ordinance №20, which determines the requirements for the issuance of airworthiness certificates of "international airports for general aviation services" are ready. The coordination procedures have been completed and the ordinance will be published for public discussion.

"At a time when the artificial intelligence is replacing the traditional business processes, the electronic commerce is gaining momentum, and the social media is a key means of communication, one of the important issues is how to guarantee the intellectual property rights and at the same time to facilitate the technology transfer." Stated the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov during a round table on topic "Intellectual Property - an engine for sustainable economic growth from science to innovation and investment."

By the end of July, a public tender will be launched for the elaboration of a project for a railway connection between the station and the airport in Burgas. It will include all preparatory activities before the start of actual construction. This is what the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov announced at his visit to Burgas railway station. The physical implementation of the project is set in the Transport Connectivity Program and is  undergoing approval by the European Commission, he added.

I supported the idea of Bulgaria's accession to the UN resolution, according to which "seafarers and other marine personnel" will be designated as key workers, the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov said at the opening of the International Maritime Forum in Burgas today. "At the end of May, I sent a letter to the Secretary-General of the International Maritime Organization (IMO) on the accession of our country to the joint resolution.

After the construction of the last 9 metro stations on the third line of the Sofia metro, car traffic will decrease by over 17,000 cars per day. This is what Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Neli Andreeva said at the opening of the conference "Strategic Infrastructure and Investment 2021". According to her, the project is included in the Recovery and Resilience Plan and has the support of the Ministry of Transport, Information Technology and Communications.

Road Transport Administration Executive Agency (RTAEA) will give an online demonstration of the system for providing administrative e-Services. It is envisaged to present the capabilities, functionalities and operation of the following administrative e-Services:

Executive Agency “Maritime Administration“ will install a national infrastructure for integrated maritime surveillance based on the CISE data model. А kick-off meeting of the project "Implementation of Integrated Bulgarian Maritime Surveillance, based on a Common Information Sharing Environment (CISE) for the EU maritime domain surveillance - with the acronym InBulMarS 2" was held today in Varna.

Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov sent a letter to EU Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean. The letter states that despite our common efforts for the implementation of the Green lanes, worrying situations have been witnessed at some intra-EU border crossing points, including between Bulgaria and Romania. The Bulgarian heavy goods vehicles have been caught in long queues and the cross-border circulation of goods between Bulgaria and Romania has been heavily impeded.

The project "Implementation of Integrated Bulgarian Maritime Surveillance (InBulMarS), based on a Information Sharing Environment (CISE) for surveillance of the EU maritime territory - with the acronym InBulMarS 2" has been launched. The opening meeting will be held on June 23, 2021 in Varna.

The program envisages the presentation of the project for the media representatives on June 23, 2021 at 12.00, in the Roslin Dimyat Hotel.

We have resumed the dialogue with the branch organizations regarding the training of the driving licence applicants. This is what the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Georgi Todorov stated following a meeting with representatives of the organizations in the field of training of driving licence applicants.

This year marks 140 years since the establishment of the State Telegraph and Postal School, established in 1881 by decree of Prince Alexander Battenberg, whose successor today is the University of Telecommunications and Posts.
