Six key stations along one of the busiest railway lines in the country - Sofia-Bourgas, are to be modernized, announced the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications, Rossen Jeliazkov, who launched the implementation of the project "Reconstruction of Stara Zagora Railway Station" at a total amount of 11 million leva. The funds will be allocated to an entirely new engineering infrastructure, with the corresponding telecommunications, as well as the renovation of the platform and the surrounding area, said the Minister.

86% of the modernization of the railway section Skutare - Orizovo is completed. This was stated by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov at the time of the project inspection. The 26-kilometer stretch between Skutare and Orizovo will be completed early next year, the minister added.

The main objectives of the project "Enhancing Transport Safety in the common Bulgarian-Romanian section of the Danube River by improving Disaster Response through cross-border cooperation" (Danube Safety Net) will be presented in Constanta tomorrow. It is a joint project of the administrations of Bulgaria and Romania as Executive Agency "Maritime Administration" is the leading partner. The Implementation agreement was signed on 14 September 2018 in Calarasi, Romania, and its duration is 36 months.

The position of the Bulgarian state on “Mobility Package I” and the actions taken by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov were presented by Deputy Minister Anguel Popov today in Plovdiv to hauliers from all over the country.

The European Commission allocated 293 million Euros for the modernization of the railway line between the cities of Plovdiv and Bourgas. The College of Commissioners has decided notify the Court of Justice of the European Union on Bulgaria’s failure to comply with the obligations to fully transpose into national law the requirements of Directive 2004/49 / EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 29 April 2004 on safety on the Community's railways and amending Directives 95/18 / EC and 2001/14 / EC (the Directive).

The budget of the competition is € 42,000,000, which will fund a total of 2800 municipalities in the European Union. Funding for each country can be up to 8% of total funding.

The thematic plan for issuing postage stamps, postal products and special postage stamps for 2019 was approved by the Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Rossen Jeliazkov.

The philatelic year will begin with the launch of a post-philatelic edition dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the first self-publishing of the novel Under the Yoke. A postage stamp "Bulgarian folk costumes" is envisaged for a final finish in 2019.

WiFi4EU competition, under the European Commission’s initiative for free public WiFi access, will be launched on Wednesday, November 7, 2018. Some 229 Bulgarian municipalities have already applied for participation. The day the competition is open representatives of the Bulgarian local authorities who have already applied, will only have to press the register button. The remaining 36 municipalities have enough time until November 7 to apply and participate in the competition.

The transport system has an acute need for educated and well-qualified man-power, desiring to develop in this sector, stated Deputy Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications Velik Zanchev at a graduation ceremony of 2018 graduates with a bachelor's degree  of  “Todor Kableshkov” University of Transport. He stressed that the sector is developing extremely dynamically and staffing in railways, metro, maritime transport, aviation and road construction is a key factor for progress.
